VIDEO. Fighting David Goffin saves eight (!) set balls, still has to allow a third set and still wins in Rotterdam

David Goffin (ATP 133) qualified for the second round (eighth finals) of the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands (hard/2,134,985 euros) on Monday.

Goffin won in the first round against the 18-year-old Croatian wildcard Dino Prizmic (ATP 171) in three sets: 6-4, 6-7 (12/14) and 6-1. In the tiebreak of the second set, Goffin failed to convert a match ball. The match lasted 2 hours and 56 minutes. The 33-year-old from Liège qualified for the main table through the qualifications.

In the second round, Goffin will face the winner of the match between Australian fifth seed Alex de Minaur (ATP 11) and American Sebastian Korda (ATP 33).

Zizou Bergs (ATP 132) is also in the Dutch port city. The 24-year-old Limburger, a qualifier like Goffin, will meet Russian second seed Andrey Rublev (ATP 5) in the first round. Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen will compete in the doubles.
