VIDEO. Was the ball over the line? Ajax sees an end to its unbeaten streak after the ultimate equalizer is questionably rejected

Under John van’t Schip, Ajax is revived again. The team from Amsterdam recorded an unbeaten run of 12 competition matches before the trip to Heerenveen, number 13 in the Dutch top division. But the home team was in the mood for a stunt and had a double lead at the break. No improvement in half two, because after just one minute the Abe Lenstra stadium was allowed to straighten for a third time.

Heerenveen had to finish the game, but after an own goal by Bochniewicz, Ajax found a second wind. Via substitute and ex-Truienaar Chuba Akpom, the Amsterdam team managed to score the tying goal ten minutes before the end.

In the 96th minute, Sutalo seemed to score the unexpected 3-3 goal, but the ball was cleared on the line. In the repetition we see that it concerns millimeter work. The VAR was of the opinion that the ball had not crossed the goal line and thus gave Ajax a cold shower. The undefeated status can be thrown in the trash.

Heerenveen climbs to place 11, Ajax misses the opportunity to jump over AZ to place four. Next week Ajax can taste victory again provided they win against Norwegian Bodo/Glimt in the Conference League.

PSV crushes Volendam despite early deficit

The meeting could not have started worse with an own goal by Jordan Teze in the first minute, but Ismael Saibari (13.) put things in order within the opening fifteen minutes on the advice of the same Teze.

Jerdy Schouten (52.) gave PSV the lead early in the second half. In the final quarter, the home team’s spirits broke completely: Teze (74.), Ricardo Pepi (79.) and Isaac Babadi (85.) continued to deepen. Johan Bakayoko completed the 90 minutes for the visitors.

PSV clearly leads the rankings in the Dutch first division with 59 points.
