Magali Kempen (WTA 372) took the overall victory in the singles and doubles at the ITF W50 tournament in Edgbaston (hard/$40,000) on Saturday in Great Britain.

The 26-year-old from Kempen first defeated the Czech Barbora Palicova (WTA 359) 6-3 and 7-6 (8/6), before triumphing a few hours later alongside Lara Salden.

“I am obviously very satisfied,” she said on Sunday. “I never dared to think that I would win a W50 tournament so quickly. I achieved a very good level this week. I was mentally strong. The recipe for my success is that I have regained my joy of playing.”
