IN PICTURE. Not for sensitive souls: RWDM defender Sissako sustains a terrible knee injury

As if the sporting malaise on the field wasn’t bad enough. After just over an hour, RWDM was already faced with a strong 0-4 deficit in its own Edmond Machtens stadium, and in the final quarter Moussa Sissoko suffered a serious injury. Not for sensitive viewers.

In a duel with Antwerp midfielder Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, the Liège native received the full weight of the Dutchman ten minutes before the end, causing him to dislocate his knee. Sissako started the second half as one of four substitutes on behalf of the home team.

Because teammate Sampaio received his second yellow just fifteen minutes earlier, the Molenbeek team had to play the remainder of the match with nine. Fortunately for them, Antwerp did not score a fifth goal. Sissako himself apparently faces a long rehabilitation.
