CHALLENGER PRO LEAGUE. Leader Beerschot distances itself from SL16 after the break, Dender falls to Genk

Beerschot made no mistake on Sunday afternoon against SL16, the promise team of Standard, during the 21st round of the Challenger Pro League. The Rats clenched their fist at 2-0.

The visitors kept pace for more than half, until Mardochee Nzita (53.) opened the scoring. Tom Reyners (69.) doubled the margin about fifteen minutes later. His tenth of the season.

Beerschot tops the rankings of the second highest division with 42 points. SL16 is at the bottom, in the sixteenth and last position, with fifteen points.

Dender suffers an expensive defeat in the battle for promotion at Racing Genk’s U23 team

Dender suffered an injury on Sunday afternoon during the 21st round of the Challenger Pro League when visiting the U23 of Racing Genk. It became 2-1.

Thomas Claes (39.) opened the score for the Genk promises with half time in sight. Olivier Myny (75.) scored fifteen minutes before the end, but Cedric Nuozzi (84.) who had just come on gave the Limburgers the three points in the final minutes. Goalkeeper Penders also played a hero’s role.

Due to the loss, Dender remains in seventh place in the standings of the second highest Belgian division with 35 points, just below the places that entitle them to the play-offs for promotion. Jong Genk in turn climbs to ninth position with 28 units.
