Goalkeeper Tom Vandenberghe heads KV Kortrijk to an important point in the battle for retention. With this he gives his team a good point after a weak match. The red lantern remains in the hands of the Chamber of Commerce.

It was cold Am Kehrweg. Fortunately, the press was able to warm up before the match with a delicious and warm Goulash soup. The players did not give the journalists and the audience much to get excited about at the beginning of the match. Eupen had the upper hand, but real danger took 20 minutes to arrive. Möhwald saw the dribbling-savvy Nuhu standing alone and passed him. The Ghanaian charged towards Vandenberghe’s goal and fired a shot at his cage. Unfortunately he saw the shot fly a meter wide. KVK could not get a grip on the fast Eupen striker throughout the match.

The home team continued to maintain the dominance in the first half. Yet Vandenberghe’s reflexes were not often tested. Then we go inside after a less than entertaining first 45 minutes. Hoping the goulash wasn’t finished yet.

Kadri captain off

Fortunately, it had not run out yet and we were able to start the second half with fresh courage. The KV Kortrijk players also realized that their first half was not good to watch and started the second half well. The away team, led by Kadri, took the lead a little more, but were unable to create any opportunities. Finally the Algerian could be seen. His captaincy was taken from him in the hope of taking some of the pressure off his shoulders.

Yet we did not see much improvement in the flow of the game. Sloppy loss of ball by both teams, harmless chances and little creativity. That was the match picture until 20 minutes before the final whistle. Suddenly there was some excitement in the match. Finnbogason hit the post and in the restart Palsson scored the ball, 1-0. Eupen was heading for an important victory. Until minute 93. Goalkeeper Vandenberghe moved forward on a corner kick and headed it home. The hero of the evening scored a point for his team.
