Castors Braine closed the group stage of the EuroCup in women’s basketball with a 66-60 win against Barreiro, Portugal. Our compatriots have long been assured of second place in group I and a place in the first round of the play-offs.

Still without the injured Nastja Claessens and the American Victoria Saxton, Castors was already in the lead 40-23 at halftime. Afterwards the visitors came back, but the victory was not relinquished. Marie Vervaet scored seventeen points, Jelena Vucetic and Jessica Lindstrom each scored fourteen points. Castors had also previously won the first leg in a suburb of Lisbon (63-71).

In group K, Billie Massey played fourteen minutes for Estudiantes Madrid, which recorded a solid 90-66 win against the Czech Chomutov. Our compatriot was good for five points and eight rebounds. Undefeated Madrid has also qualified for the first round of the play-offs.
