In the final doubles match, Virtanen and Harri Heliovaara were too strong for Alexis Galarneau and Vasek Pospisil with 7-5 and 6-3.

Finland, a semi-finalist in the Davis Cup for the first time, will play the Czech Republic or Australia for a place in the final on Friday. They will meet tomorrow/Wednesday. The remaining quarter-finals will be played on Thursday with Italy/Netherlands and Serbia/Great Britain.

All matches of the Final 8 will be played on hard courts (indoor) in Malaga.
