“This is a black page in club history”: Romelu Lukaku reacts sharply after reorganization at Anderlecht

At RSC Anderlecht, Peter Verbeke, Henk Mariman and Mikkel Hemmersam take over the management of the famous youth academy. The Purple & White thus accommodates the departure of Jean Kindermans, who will take on a new challenge at national champion Antwerp in the middle of next year. “This is a black page in club history,” said Romelu Lukaku.

Kindermans has been at the head of the Brussels youth training program since 2006. “He is leaving after 17 seasons at RSC Anderlecht. The moment to reflect on a rich career as a player, coach, but especially as a driving force behind one of the best academies in the world. Thank you, Jean,” says Purple & White.

Reactions immediately poured in under the Brussels residents’ post on Instagram. The most striking was that of Romelu Lukaku.

“Your vision gave us a chance to become the players we are… and the club @rscanderlecht and the @belgianreddevils benefit from it to this day! This is a black page in club history because this man is Anderlecht through and through, thank you for everything Boss!”

Jérémy Doku also responded, albeit a bit shorter: “Thanks for everything”.
