In the third quarter (19-21) the Kangaroos chipped away at their deficit and in the final quarter (11-22) they went up and over the Greeks. The home team still had the advantage until 1:40 from the buzzer (80-79), but was unable to score in the final phase. The last Greek point was scored at 3:35 from the end. In the other match in group E, Besiktas won 43-87 at bottom Slavia Banska Bystrica. Mechelen is the leader in the group after three wins and a defeat, Besiktas is on the same level. A win with a five-point difference in Athens had already given Mechelen absolute certainty of a place in the top two – they lost to Panathinaikos with a four-point difference at home – but with a points difference of plus 45, compared to minus five for the Greeks, we see it looks exceptionally good.
