Bayern Munich will soon enter into discussions with defender Noussair Mazraoui about a pro-Palestinian message that the Moroccan posted on his social media channels last week. “Everyone, including every employee and every player, knows what values Bayern stands for,” Bayern said in a statement.

Bayern defender Noussair Mazraoui (25) is briefly in the eye of the storm after he posted a video on social media in which he wished the Palestinians victory in the conflict with Israel. Mazraoui shared a short clip that echoed the following words: “God, help our oppressed brothers in Palestine to achieve victory. May God grant mercy to the dead, may God heal the wounded.”

That post did not go down well with his club Bayern Munich. “Everyone, including every employee and every player, knows what values Bayern stands for. We already expressed this publicly and unequivocally immediately after the terrorist attack on Israel. We care about our friends in Israel and stand by their side. At the same time, we hope for a peaceful coexistence of all people in the Middle East,” Bayern Munich told the DPA news agency.

There was no discussion between the two parties yet. Mazraoui is away with the Moroccan national team for the time being. “A personal meeting with the club management in Munich is planned after his return,” Bayern Munich said.
