“The Lisp must serve more than just Lierse’s league matches. This operation should allow us to upgrade the stadium little by little,” said Lierse Kempenzonen CEO Yorik Torreele. — © BELGIUM

Exactly 25 years after SK Lierse made its first and only participation in the final phase of the largest European tournament, the Champions League will return to the Lisp in a very small way in the coming weeks. Antwerp’s U19s will face Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Porto and FC Barcelona in Lier in the coming weeks. “We want to make maximum use of our know-how in organizing matches in our stadium. We did that last season with the Red Flames, now this opportunity presented itself,” explains Yorik Torreele, CEO of the Pallieters.
