On the seventh matchday in La Liga, Atlético Madrid won 0-2 on Thursday evening at Osasuna, which was eliminated a few weeks ago by Club Brugge in the final preliminary round of the Conference League.
In Pamplona, Axel Witsel and co took the lead after twenty minutes, after a goal by French international Antoine Griezmann. After 81 minutes, Madrid youth product Rodrigo Riquelme posted the 0-2 final score. Both teams finished the match with ten, after red cards for Chimy Avila and Alvaro Morata. Witsel played the entire match at the center back for the Atléti.
With the second league victory in a row, Atlético Madrid is in fifth place with thirteen points, six points behind the surprising leader Girona. Atlético still has a catch-up match against Dodi Lukebakio’s FC Sevilla. Osasuna is only fourteenth with seven points.
