Another prize: Emma Meesseman wins the European Super Cup with Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe won the Supercup in women’s basketball on Thursday evening. Emma Meesseman and her Turkish club, who won the Euroleague last season, crushed fellow Belgian Cat Julie Allemand’s ASVEL Lyon 52-109. It is the first Supercup for the Turks, the fifth for Meesseman.

The Turks already distanced themselves from the winner of the EuroCup in the first quarter and were already well ahead at the break. (51-28). After tea, Fenerbahçe increased the score even further. Meesseman was good for ten points and thirteen rebounds, her American teammate Napheesa Collier also did well with twenty points and seven rebounds.

The European Basketball Super Cup has been organized since 2009 between the winners of the Euroleague and the EuroCup. Meesseman has already won the Super Cup four times with the Russian Ekaterinburg.
