FC Barcelona seems to be by far the best team in Group H and so it is up to FC Porto to fight for second place and the corresponding ticket for the 1/8th finals. The Portuguese got off to an excellent start in that quest with a victory in Hamburg, where the Volkspark Stadium was packed for this European clash.
The 45,300 spectators present were treated to a crazy first half hour. Galeno opened the scoring for Porto after just 8 minutes. Dmytro Riznyk saved André Franco’s hard shot, but had no chance on the Brazilian’s rebound. Kevin Kelsy quickly scored the equalizer, but Galeno made it 2-1 after 15 minutes after a dangerous pass at Shakhtar. Mehdi Taremi recorded the final score fifteen minutes later on the instructions of… Galeno.
