VAR throws a spanner in the works: Vincent Kompany lets Mike Trésor make his debut, but misses out on his first win with Burnley

The first point is in. Vincent Kompany and Burnley drew 1-1 on matchday 5 in the Premier League against Nottingham Forrest

For the home team, Red Devil Orel Mangala was in the starting line-up, Divock Origi took a seat on the bench. Kompany chose Ameen Al-Dakhil as starter, Mike Trésor and Anass Zaroury did not.

Burnley soon had an excellent chance, but Forrest goalkeeper Matt Turner made a fantastic save. It was scored in the 41st minute. A phenomenal sprint by the barely 19-year-old Luca Koleosho and Zeki Amdouni scored the 0-1 beautifully. After the break, the home team equalized on the hour mark. Callum Hudson-Odoi, still only 22 years old, scored the 1-1 in a fantastic way.

Not much later, Kompany celebrated the 1-2 after a run from Sander Berge (ex-Genk) and a good tap from Lyle Foster (ex-Westerlo). However, the goal was disallowed for handball by the Norwegian.

Trésor made his debut in the Premier League, while Origi got his first minutes at Forrest. Burnley is now 19th in the standings with 1 point. It has played one match less due to the rescheduled match against red lantern Luton Town. Forrest is eighth with 7 points.
