Eendracht Aalst fired coach Carl De Geyseleer after just two matchdays. At the same time, the bomb exploded in the Pierre Cornelis Stadium when most of the players refused to train due to overdue payments. Sporting manager Kevin Mirallas showed understanding, but asked the group to make a unanimous decision. A handful of foreign players refused to join the strike. Things then got out of hand when the players were even physically threatened by Turkish employees, who demanded that training start.
