Anderlecht easily cleared the first hurdle in the qualifications for the Women’s Champions League on Wednesday evening. In the semi-finals of the first qualifying round, the Belgian national champion won 5-0 against the Polish Katowice.

Anderlecht left no stone unturned from a hopeless Katowice in the first half. At halftime the scoreboard already indicated 4-0. Stefanie Vatafu (17.), Esther Buabadi (36.), Tine De Caigny (39.) and Lore Jacobs (45.) ensured the lead. Sakina Ouzraoui Diki (90.+1) took care of the final figures in the final.

With the victory, Anderlecht advance to the final of the first preliminary round. It faces the Norwegian Brann Bergen, who won 5-0 against the Bulgarian Lokomotiv Stara Zagora earlier in the evening.

With a win against the Norwegian ladies, Anderlecht advances to the second preliminary round, the last stop before the group stage of the tournament. The opponent for the last preliminary round has not yet been announced.
