Zizou Bergs advances to second round of Challenger tournament in Zug

Zizou Bergs (ATP 158) qualified for the second round (eighth finals) of the Challenger tournament in Zug, Switzerland (gravel/145,000 euros) on Tuesday.

Bergs defeated the Austrian Maximilian Neuchrist (ATP 215) in the first round 6-4 twice. Spread over two days, the game lasted 1 hour and 29 minutes. In the second round, the Turkish qualifier Ergi Kirkin (ATP 460) or the Finnish fifth seed Otto Virtanen (ATP 132) awaits.

The game started on Monday but, after some rain interruptions, was moved to today/Tuesday. At that time, the Limburger was leading 2-1 in the second set and had won the first set 6-4.

With Joris De Loore (ATP 202) there is a second Belgian on the main table. The West Fleming will fight the Swiss second seed Dominic Stricker (ATP 106) in his first round. The 24-year-old Bergs and the 30-year-old De Loore form a tandem in the doubles in Zug.
