Kimberly Zimmermann wins doubles in Sicily for third year in a row

Kimberly Zimmermann won the doubles title on Sunday for the third consecutive year at the WTA 250 tournament in Palermo, Sicily (gravel / 225,480 euros).

At the side of the Russian Yana Sizikova, Zimmerman defeated the Italian duo Angelica Moratelli and Camila Rosatello in the final 6-2 and 6-4. The match lasted 1 hour and 17 minutes.

Zimmerman won her first doubles title in Palermo in 2021 with New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe. In 2022 she extended her title alongside the Hungarian Anna Bondar.

It is Zimmerman’s third doubles title on the WTA circuit. She lost a double final twice: in 2021 with Routliffe in Luxembourg and last year with the Polish Katarzyna Piter in Budapest.
