As expected and predicted, Louis and Gilles Vandecaveye once again put the icing on the cake in Waregem. In the final they beat the duo Christophe Witvrouwen-Joppe Van Langendock in three sets. It was the fourth victory for the Bellegem team after Haacht, Hechtel-Eksel and Kortrijk. The following weeks, the brothers can demonstrate their excellent form in Leuven, Kinrooi and especially at the Masters in Brussels, where they play for the Belgian title.
There is no doubt: Louis and Gilles Vandecaveye are still in good shape. Our West Flemish pride in beach volleyball strings together victories. In Waregem it was like that again. In the final, the brothers had their hands full with Christophe Witvrouwen-Joppe Van Langendock and they needed three sets to win their fourth.

In the ladies, the West Flemish duo Annelies Baston-Nathalie De Wulf reached the quarter finals. The sisters Ine and Britte Fransen could also look back on a successful tournament. “It was also our last game,” adds 21-year-old Britt Fransen. “Now it is time to enjoy a welcome holiday. It is true that we have taken steps this season. We are starting to get better at each other. It promises for the future. We even reached the final in Kortrijk. We then had to give up in three sets to the duo Charlotte Coppin and Charlotte-Justine Delanote. First of all, we want to have fun. Of course it would be nice if we managed to get a first win next season. But it’s not a must. Will I start the new season with Davo Wevelgem? No, with my choice for Ghent I raise the bar for myself. This separates the ways with my older sister Ine, who stays with Wevelgem.”
Successful edition
President of Ladies Volley Waregem Yves Chanterie once again looked back on a successful edition. “We would have liked to see Louis and Gilles Vandecaveye, two boys from the region, play first violin here, just like last year”, Chanterie was quite satisfied. “We were also lucky that the predicted thunderstorms did not materialize. With the exception of a meager shower, the weather gods were favorable to us. And once again we received congratulations for our perfect organization. Not unimportant either.”
