After a new draw at the U21 European Championship, the third and last group match is as good as it should be for the Young Devils. The scenarios to reach the quarterfinals.

The Belgian promises of national coach Jacky Mathijssen have so far gathered two points after a 0-0 against the Netherlands and a 2-2 against Georgia. This currently results in second place in group A, because it has scored one more goal compared to the Netherlands (2 against 1). That also means that the Young Devils are virtually placed for the quarter-finals, but everything can still change in the last game against Portugal next Tuesday (6 pm).

The promises go to the quarterfinals:

– in a win against Portugal’s peers. Whether they do that as group winners will depend on the result between Georgia and the Netherlands.

– in case of a draw against Portugal. In that case, the Netherlands may not win against Georgia. In order not to be eliminated on the basis of goal difference, the Orange may not score more goals than our Devils in a draw.

If the Young Devils lose on Tuesday, the European Championship will be over.

The current position in group A

1. Georgia – 4 points

2. Belgium – 2 points

3. Netherlands – 2 points

4. Portugal – 1 punt
