On Sunday, Union, Genk and Antwerp could still become champions. Royal Antwerp FC eventually emerged as the winner. For the first time in 66 years, the club can celebrate the national title. “No one could have predicted this ten years ago. For eight years, Antwerp was almost dead,” says our football chief Ludo Vandewalle. “But chairman Paul Gheysens invested 150 million euros in the club. You can be sure that Antwerp is now champion as a result.”
