The Norwegian Casper Ruud (ATP 4) qualified for the second round of Roland Garros on Tuesday without any problems. The fourth seed defeated the Swedish qualifier Elias Ymer (ATP 155) after more than two hours of tennis 6-4, 6-3 and 6-2. Ons Jabeur also went to the second round without any problems.
Ruud’s next opponent will be the Kazakh Alexander Bublik (ATP 51) or the Italian Giulio Zeppieri (ATP 129), who comes from the qualifications.
24-year-old Ruud played his very first grand slam final in Paris last season. He lost it without a chance against the Spanish clay king Rafael Nadal. Later he also reached the final at the US Open. There, Carlos Alcaraz, another Spaniard was too strong.
