Chelsea appoints new CEO with Chris Jurasek

Chelsea have appointed Chris Jurasek as their new CEO. He takes over from Tom Glick, who will remain on board for the coming months to ease the transition. Then he leaves the London club.

Jurasek is described by Chelsea as “a successful and experienced CEO with over 25 years of experience in leading roles in global companies”. The businessman already had a link with Chelsea through his board position at Clearlake Capital, an American asset manager that partly owns the Blues.

Tom Glick became CEO at Chelsea in the summer of 2022, succeeding Marina Granovskaia. The Russian-Canadian, for years regarded as “the most powerful woman in football”, left the club in the wake of then-owner Roman Abramovich.

The news about the new CEO comes barely a day after Chelsea announced its new manager for next season Mauricio Pochettino. After a very disappointing season, which included a twelfth place in the Premier League, the Argentinian must let the team start again with success.
