Limburg, Liège and Charleroi defeated in Elite Gold, Leuven and Aalst emerge victorious in BNXT League

The Belgian basketball teams had a bad evening on Saturday in the Elite Gold of the BNXT League. Limburg, Liège and Charleroi all lost against the Dutch teams Leiden, BAL Weert and Donar Groningen.

Despite 21 points from Angel Rodriguez, the Liège team lost 86-84 to Weert, while Quinten Smout (23 points) and Charleroi lost 78-72 at Groningen. The Limburgers suffered a clear defeat at Leiden (75-61), although Myles Cale was good for thirteen points for United.

In the provisional standings, Ostend (25 points) remains in the lead ahead of Den Bosch and Leiden (23 points). This is followed by Antwerp, Limburg and Groningen (22 points), Zwolle and Charleroi (21 points), followed by Liège (20 points) and Weert with 19 points.

The Belgian teams were able to triumph in the Elite Silver. The Leuven Bears won 75-80 against Feyenoord, thanks to Jalen Tate (23 points) and Cody Riley (12 points and 14 rebounds). Okapi Aalst won at Den Helder (69-81) thanks to Ivan Maras (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Tito Casero (15 points). Kangaroos Mechelen will play against Leeuwarden on Sunday (4 p.m.).
