Ivan Toney made it very colorful when betting on competitions. The top scorer of Premier League club Brentford gambled thirteen times on a defeat of his own club. The British Football Association FA announced this following the eight-month suspension that Toney was imposed earlier this week.

The FA does not allow active players to gamble on matches as they may have a lot of insider knowledge. According to the union, Toney broke the rules 232 times between 2017 and 2021. The attacker, good for twenty Premier League goals this season, has been diagnosed with a gambling addiction. He indicates that he will soon communicate openly about the matter.

Toney has to wait until January 16, 2024 before he can play again for Brentford or the England national team. He will be able to train again in four months. In addition, he must pay a fine of more than 57,000 euros.
