Real Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday on the 37th matchday in La Liga. Karim Benzema scored, but was limping for almost a whole game. Still, he played the full 90 minutes.

A day later the monkey came out of the sleeve: the French striker suffered a deep wound on his foot. Initially, so much blood came out that his shoe partly turned red.
“Karim got a kick in the tenth minute,” said Karim Djaziri, former manager and good friend of Benzema. “Since he never complains, he played on in pain and even managed to score. In the end, a doctor gave him five stitches in the dressing room.”
