Rangers won the highly charged Old Firm against champions Celtic on Saturday on the 35th matchday in the Scottish league. The Scottish number two took the lead early in the game and went on to win 3-0 at the Ibrox Stadium.

Todd Cantwell put the home team on roses after five minutes. The English midfielder blasted the ball, in the rebound on a shot from John Lundstram, hard past goalkeeper Joe Hart. In the 34th minute, defender John Souttar made it 2-0 with a clear header from a James Tavernier corner.

In the second half, Fashion Sakala (ex-KV Oostende) completely closed the books for Celtic. The Zambian just received the ball as a gift from the visiting defense, bypassed goalkeeper Hart and then put the ball bone dry in the empty goal.

Our compatriot Nicolas Raskin, who exchanged Standard for the Rangers this winter, started in the base and played the entire game.

However, it is not more than a prestige victory for Raskin and his colleagues. Celtic already took the title in the Scottish league last week. It is the eleventh title for The Celts in twelve years. The Rangers have to settle for second place.
