He just keeps going: Porto defender Pepe (40) is adding another season

There is no wear and tear on the Portuguese international Pepe. The 40-year-old defender has extended his contract with FC Porto by one year, until the end of next season, the club announced on Sunday. Pepe and FC Porto have reached an agreement.

“I love the club and the city, and I hope to be able to contribute to winning new titles,” said the mandekker.

Pepe, who was born in Brazil, settled in Portugal at the age of 18 and took his first steps in professional football with Maritimo. After a first passage at Porto (2004-2007), he spent ten years at Real Madrid, where he won the Champions League three times. After a year and a half on the payroll at Turkish side Besiktas, he returned to Porto in January 2019.

Pepe played 133 matches for the national team of Portugal, with the European title in 2016 as the highlight.
