PEC Zwolle was promoted to the Eredivisie on Friday evening, after a year of absence. In the Kitchen Champion Division, the formation of trainer Dick Schreuder had enough of a draw (1-1) at Almere City FC, the number 3 in the ranking. Zwolle is now certain of a place in the top two in the final standings, sufficient for direct promotion.

Almere City did take the lead halfway through the second half through a goal from Stije Resink. Thomas van den Belt equalized a few minutes later. At Almere City, Anthony Limbombe came on in the 57th minute.

PEC Zwolle is not yet a champion. Heracles Almelo is also eligible for this, which won at Helmond Sport (1-0) by a goal from Samuel Armenteros (ex-Anderlecht). Heracles is the main candidate for direct promotion after Zwolle, although the team of coach John Lammers can still be overtaken by Almere City.
