Tonight three teams compete with Union, Anderlecht and AA Gent for a European semi-final. If one of our Belgian clubs pushes through, a very busy football calendar awaits them in May. After all, the semi-finals of the Europa League and the Conference League will be played on May 11 and 18. That is right in the middle of the play-offs in Belgium, but moving the calendar is not an option.

At the start of the season, the Belgian teams that competed through qualifications for a place in a European group stage were given a weekend off to optimally prepare for those crucial European matches. Anderlecht – AA Gent and Antwerp-Union were moved in mid-August to give the teams in question a helping hand to reach the group stage of the Europa League/Conference League.
This time the calendar is too full to do something like that again, so our clubs will have a very busy month of May as they progress to a European semi-final. With play-offs and a European semi-final. Although that only applies for the time being in the case of Union and AA Gent, they are already certain of the play-offs. Anderlecht will compete for a ticket for Play-off 2 this weekend.
The calendar of the play-offs will be announced on Sunday evening at 9:15 PM.
