Belgium did not reach the final of the Billie Jean King Cup. In the decisive game, the Belgian tennis players Kirsten Flipkens and Greet Minnen lost 6-1 and 6-2 against the Canadian duo Gabriela Dabrowski and Leylah Fernandez in Vancouver on Saturday. Canada, for example, takes it with three wins to two.

After four games, the score between Belgium and Canada was tied. Earlier in the day, Greet Minnen had won the fourth match against Katherine Sebov and a fifth, decisive doubles match had to be decisive.

That match, in which Minnen again took office, therefore fell in favor of Canada. The country takes a ticket for the final, while Belgium has to play jump-offs to keep its place in the world group.

The Billie Jean King Cup in Canada was Wim Fissette’s first experience as captain. He was appointed in February to succeed Johan Van Herck.
