The Dutch team will have to do without Noa Lang in the upcoming European Championship qualifying matches, Calvin Stengs (ex-Antwerp) has been called up as a replacement

Dutch national coach Ronald Koeman will also not be able to call on Noa Lang (ex-Club Brugge) in the upcoming European Championship qualifiers with France and Greece. The PSV attacker has withdrawn after injuring his upper leg on Sunday in the away match against Sparta Rotterdam (0-4).

As Lang’s replacement, Koeman has chosen Feyenoord player Calvin Stengs (ex-Antwerp). Andries Noppert, the man who played for the Dutch team during the World Cup in Qatar last year, will also join the selection. The Netherlands also misses important players such as Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, Cody Gakpo, Matthijs de Ligt and the long-injured Jurriën Timber. Steven Berghuis has not yet officially withdrawn, but was missing from Ajax’s lost home match with AZ on Sunday.

The Dutch national team will host France in De Kuip on October 13. Three days later, Greece is the opponent in Athens. France is the leader of European Championship qualifying group B with a full score of fifteen points from five matches. The Dutch team follows with 9 points, but has played one match less. Greece has collected 9 points in five matches. The best two of the group qualify directly for the European Championships in Germany in 2024.
