Brooklyn qualified for the playoffs in the NBA on Friday. A 101-84 win against Orlando was enough for that. After a 112-115 loss to Chicago, Dallas may make a cross about participation in the play-offs, even the play-ins prove to be too ambitious.

Brooklyn is sixth in the Eastern Conference with 45 wins in 81 games. The Nets will face number three Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs. Miami, seventh (43z-38n), lost 114-108 in Washington and will face the jump-off.

The numbers seven to ten come into action in the play-ins, in which both the East and the West compete for the last two tickets for the play-offs. Dallas, a finalist in the Western Conference last year, is in eleventh place with 38 wins and 43 losses. Oklahoma City (39z-42n) secured tenth place with Dallas’ defeat. The LA Lakers, seventh (42z-39n), still have a shot at a direct spot in the playoffs after a 121-107 win against Phoenix. So is New Orleans, eighth (42z-39n), 113-105 too strong for New York. Number five, defending champion Golden State (43z-38n), won 97-119 against Sacramento but is mathematically uncertain of a playoff ticket.
