Beerschot recorded a satisfying 1-3 victory on the field of Francs Borains on Sunday afternoon in the Challenger Pro League. The Rats managed to recover after the zero out of six against SL16 and Deinze.

Charly Keita gave the visitors the lead early in the game. Less than ten minutes later it was already 0-2 after a goal by Tom Reyners. Beerschot seemed to have their sheep on dry land, but at the end of the game it became exciting again after Kevin Vandendriessche’s tying goal. Just before stoppage time, Beerschot managed to secure the victory through Apostolos Konstantopoulos.

Thanks to the victory, Beerschot is once again at the top of the Challenger Pro League with the same number of points as Zulte Waregem (32 points). Francs Borains is last with thirteen points.

Deinze makes a comeback

Later in the day, Deinze took the three points against SL16, Standard’s promising team. The match seemed to be heading for a draw, but in the absolute final Deinze still managed to win.

SL16 got off to a good start and took the lead after just four minutes of play through Brahim Ghalidi. Only in the second half did Deinze manage to come alongside after a striking header from Souleymane Anne. A draw seemed to be in the making, but in injury time Gaetan Hendrickx gave the home team the 2-1 victory.
