Juventus and Inter both remain in the running for the Italian Cup final. Their first leg in the semi-finals resulted in a 1-1 draw in Turin on Tuesday evening. In the final phase, the game derailed completely, with Romelu Lukaku in a leading role.
Inter monopolized the ball, but could not translate that predominance into a goal. Romelu Lukaku came on halfway through the second half, trying to make the difference. The Old Lady, however, dealt a late blow via Juan Cuadrado (83.), Lukaku (90.+5) hit back in the closing seconds with a striking eleven meter.
Derailed final phase
During the celebration, however, Big Rom received a second yellow card for appearing to provoke the home fans. Why he did that is not entirely clear at the moment. In Italy, it is said that Lukaku was previously treated racially by the Juve fans.
The topper then derailed completely. Another riot followed after the final whistle and Juventus midfielder Cuadrado and Inter goalkeeper Handanovic also received a red card.
The decision on the ticket for the final in Milan will be made on Wednesday 26 April. Inter is the reigning cup holder. In the other semi-final, Cremonese and Fiorentina will compete in their first leg tomorrow/Wednesday.
