A few days after his star role in the 2-3 victory in Germany, where he was good for one goal and two assists for the Red Devils, Kevin De Bruyne has now also asserted himself in the top of the Premier League. The midfielder kicked his club Manchester City into a 2-1 lead against Liverpool shortly after the break.

De Bruyne was well followed after his team got around the visitors’ offside trap. After a breakout from Riyad Mahrez on the right, he was able to put his foot completely detached in the center against the Algerian’s low cross. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, who had hoped to intercept the cross, had been spotted.
It was De Bruyne’s fifth league goal of the season. He also already has 12 assists, the most of anyone in the English Premier League.
