That was the 39th win of the season and with that they climb to seventh place in the Western Conference, which entitles them to participate in the jump-off for the play-offs after the regular season has ended.
Anthony Davis took on the star role with 38 points, LeBron James took care of the balance with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Mike Conley scored 25 points for the home team and Rudy Gobert was out with a knee injury after the break.
With 39 wins and 38 losses on the counter, the Lakers also keep their sights on sixth place, which means direct participation in the playoffs. With 41 wins and 37 losses, the shared fifth place is currently in the hands of city rivals LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors, which seems difficult to stop. The Warriors won 130-115 against San Antonio Spurs on Friday thanks to the ‘Splash Brothers’ Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, good for 33 and 31 points respectively. The Clippers, on the other hand, lost 108-94 in Memphis.
