Yanina Wickmayer steams through to the semi-finals in France, Greet Minnen is eliminated in the singles

Yanina Wickmayer (WTA 211) has qualified for the semifinals of the ITF tournament in Croissy-Beaubourg (hard/60,000 dollars) on Thursday.

Wickmayer defeated the Dutch Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove (WTA 201) in the quarterfinals in two sets: 6-2 and 6-3. The game took 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Greet Minnen (WTA 167) was unable to qualify for the semi-finals earlier on Thursday. She lost in the quarterfinals against the British fourth seed Jodie Burrage (WTA 132) in three sets: 3-6, 7-5 and 6-4. The game lasted 2 hours and 17 minutes. Burrage is Wickmayer’s opponent in the semifinals.

The 25-year-old Minnen and 33-year-old Wickmayer also double in France and form the top seed. In the quarterfinals (second round) the Greek Sapfo Sakellaridi and American Chiara Scholl await.
