First the middle finger, now the example: Onyedika kicks the ball with G-athletes from Club Brugge

As an accomplished coach, midfielder Raphael Onyedika was on the field with Club Brugge’s G-squad on Wednesday: he taught them the necessary “tips and tricks”. The session was a result of his middle finger on Antwerp.

Let’s go back to February 5, 2023 and a heated topper between Antwerp and Club Brugge. After the whistle blows, the puppets start dancing and Raphael Onyedika treats the home supporters three times with a middle finger. According to the Club camp, the result of chants directed at Onyedika, who was not punished at the time. Ritchie De Laet (Antwerp) also thought it necessary to raise his middle finger.

Internal solution

Club Brugge had a conversation with Onyedika the day after that match, and decided to solve the matter internally. The midfielder would lead a training session of the Bruges G-squad. That is a football team for people with disabilities. (continue reading below the photo)

The Nigerian wholeheartedly agreed with the initiative, and suddenly appeared among the enthusiastic G-athletes on Wednesday. “He gave our players some tips and tricks,” it sounds on the socials at Club Brugge. And afterwards there was of course time for a nice group photo.
