Belgian football clubs do not want players to take a stand on the conflict between Israel and Palestine: “We count on their common sense”

Tarik Tissoudali from AA Gent, among others, has already stood up for the Palestinian cause on Instagram.

In Germany, Dutch footballer Anwar El Ghazi was suspended by his club Mainz because of a pro-Palestinian post on social media. The same thing happened in France with ex-Kortrijk player Youcef Atal, who now plays for Nice. In Belgium, most clubs urge their players to stay away from sensitive political topics. The Pro League also prefers not to take a position in this conflict.
