In the first quarter, both teams only managed to score. After 13-14, Ostend sprinted with an 0-11 run to 13-25. Leiden then found better options and ensured an equal score at halftime: 33-33. Leiden had a lead of one unit at the half hour: 54-53. In the fourth company, Thurman had a productive period that led to 59-64. That lead quickly melted. Hammonds three-pointed to 69-66, Bouwknecht raised to 71-67. After one and one by Van der Vuurst, both teams went into the last minute with a 73-72 score. The home team still used free throws. The Ostend production was limited in that final minute to a bomb from Gillet: 80-75. Leiden was thus again an impregnable fortress for Ostend.

With 13 points (5 to 6 two-pointers, 0 to 1 bomb and 3 to 4 free throws), 8 rebounds and 2 assists, Jovanovic achieved the best computer evaluation for Ostend. Bleijenbergh and Trpisfontaines each scored 12 points.
