FA CUP. Second division Sheffield United reach the semi-finals after a great comeback in the final minutes

Manchester City qualified first for the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday. On Sunday we know the other three, and Sheffield United is the first. The Blades won 3-2 against Blackburn Rovers in a game of the second division.

Sheffield had to work hard for it, because after twenty minutes they fell behind due to a penalty goal from Diaz. However, the equalizer soon followed when a long shot deflected off Blackburn defender Sam Gallagher, who was awarded an own goal.

Gallagher helped the visitors take the lead again on the hour mark: he provided the assist for Szmodics’ 1-2. Blackburn then seemed to be on its way to winning and thus qualifying, but in the last ten minutes the match turned completely. McBurnie first took care of the equalizer, at the start of extra time Doyle – on the instructions of ex-Genkenaar Sander Berge – scored the 3-2 with a wonderful bang.
