Southampton caused a surprise on Saturday on the 28th matchday in the Premier League. Romeo Lavia’s team drew, as a red lantern, 3-3 against the number four in the ranking.
Just before the end of the first half, Pedro Porro (45+1.) opened the score for Tottenham. After the break, Che Adams (46.) leveled the home team. But goals from Tottenham top scorer Harry Kane (65.) and Ivan Perisic (75.) put the Spurs 1-3. Theo Walcott (77.) and James Ward-Prowse (90+3.) wiped out the visitors’ lead again in extremis.
Leicester Belgians play a draw against Brentford
In another game, Leicester, with Timothy Castagne in the starting line-up, drew against Brentford, number eight in the Premier League. Mathias Jensen (32.) made the goal at Brentford, Harvey Barnes (52.) scored for Leicester. At the Foxes, Dennis Praet came in after 66 minutes.
Despite the great performance, Southampton remain twentieth and last in the standings with 23 points. Leicester (25 points) does slightly better and occupies sixteenth place. Brentford (42 points) is provisionally eighth and Tottenham (49 points) fourth.
Leander Dendoncker was not on the match sheet at Aston Villa, which won 3-0 against Bournemouth. The midfielder last played against Arsenal on February 18.
