Loïs Openda seems to be in top form just in time for the international break. The Red Devil scored twice for RC Lens on Saturday evening in the 3-0 win against Angers.
Openda had also scored three goals and provided an assist in the league match at Clermont last week. Later this month, he will be one of the strikers with the Red Devils that the brand new Belgian national coach Domenico Tedesco is counting on in the European Championship qualifier against Sweden and the exhibition match against Germany. Openda’s playing chances have also increased in this respect due to the absence of Michy Batshuayi – in recent years usually second behind Romelu Lukaku in the Belgian pecking order of strikers.
Lens advances through the victory to a provisional second place in Ligue 1, although it can be overtaken again on Sunday by Marseille – which will visit Reims. Leader PSG has nine points more than Lens and will play against Stade Rennes on Sunday.
