The Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 2) and the Italian Jannik Sinner (ATP 3) qualified for the quarter-finals of the Masters 1000 tournament in the American Indian Wells (hard/9,495,555 dollars) on Tuesday. Third seed Sinner defeated the American Ben Shelton (ATP 16) in the eighth finals and won after 1 hour 40 minutes in two sets: 7-6 (7/4) and 6-1. In the next round, the winner of the Australian Open awaits the Czech Jiri Lehecka (ATP 32), who defeated the Greek eleventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 11) (6-2 and 6-4).
