Telenet Giants Antwerp has found a replacement for the unfortunate Spencer Butterfield just before the end of the deadline (March 15, 24 hours). The German Ferdinand Zylka (24) comes over from Brussels and signed a contract with the Giants until the end of the season.

“It had to go fast and then we first looked for opportunities in our own country. Brussels comes out in Elite Silver and after consultation with the club from the capital, there was no problem negotiating with Ferdinand Zylka. We came to an agreement almost immediately. Zylka is a 24-year-old and 1m91 tall shooting guard. He has an excellent three-pointer and knows the BetFirst BNXT League. I especially want to thank Brussels and in particular manager Nikkel Kebsi for the cooperation,” says general manager Eddy Faus of Telenet Giants Antwerp. Zylka was already a youth player at the German top club Alba Berlin. After that he worked for Mitteldeutscher BC, Giesen 46ers and PS Karsluhe Lions, among others. This season he was good for Brussels in 14 games for a good average of 19 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Spencer Butterfield’s knee surgery (ruptured patellar tendon) also went well. The American forward of the Sinjoren now awaits a rehabilitation of about eight months. On Sunday (2 p.m.) the brand new Belgian cup winner will complete the second day of the BetFirst BNXT League and in Elite Gold. The Sinjoren travel to Landstede Hammers Zwolle. Ferdinand Zylka makes his debut there for Telenet Giants Antwerp
