VIDEO: Carlos Alcaraz ends Jannik Sinner’s winning streak at Indian Wells in beautiful tennis display

Title holder Carlos Alcaraz has reached the final at the Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, USA. He beat Jannik Sinner, who suffered his first defeat of the year.

The Spaniard beat the Italian 1-6, 6-3 and 6-2. Alcaraz thus ended a series of 19 victories by Sinner, the winner of the Australian Open.

On Sunday, Alcaraz, number two in the world rankings, will face Daniil Medvedev, number four in the world, in the final. The Russian beat the American Tommy Paul 1-6, 7-6 (7-3) and 6-2.

The 20-year-old Alcaraz is aiming for a thirteenth ATP title. The 28-year-old Medvedev is going for a 21st tournament victory. Neither has won a tournament yet this season.

The final will be a re-run of the 2023 final. Alcaraz then beat Medvedev 6-3 and 6-2. In the mutual matches, the Spaniard leads 3-2 against the Russian.
