With greetings from Anders Dreyer: Anderlecht makes it a gala evening against OH Leuven and scores no fewer than five

Party in the Lotto Park. The Purple & White completely reversed an early deficit and completely rolled over OH Leuven. Goals were scored by Misao, Dreyer three times, Dolberg and Stroeykens. 5-1. Anderlecht is now one point ahead of Union, OHL is back in a position that would condemn them to relegation football due to Eupen’s win earlier tonight.

Saturday evenings in the Lotto Park, from now on they will be equated with a light show before the match. And whether that creates atmosphere. A real added value if you ask us. And that had an effect. Once again, the Purple & White got off to a strong start in a home match. Dolberg managed to open the score in the first minute against Mechelen and Westerlo. OHL also immediately had to shiver. We were in for forty seconds and a cross from Augustinsson already found the head of the Danish goalkeeper. Prévot was able to save the people of Leuven from an early deficit. In the meantime, Vlietinck had already been left with what appeared to be a serious injury.

Pleasant opening quarter

In fact. It was OH Leuven that made a blitz start. Misao stunned Schmeichel with a long shot. The Japanese came in and hit the ball into the square from about twenty-five meters with his left. Great goal, although the Danish goalie reacts a little too late. 0-1, and therefore certainly not a first clean sheet for Schmeichel.

The Brussels response was not long in coming. Dolberg first headed wide. After which a Dane hung the plates in balance. What Misao can do, I can do too, Dreyer thought. The Dane received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, cut inside and actually blasted the ball past Prévot even better than the Japanese in white. 1-1. Riemer – who, like his colleague on the other side, sent the same eleven to the pasture as last week – will be satisfied with the resilience of his team. Striking statistic: Anderlecht managed to score a goal in the first half in every home match.

Dreyer in top form

Anderlecht controlled. In the meantime, OHL tried to make war at the front with Brunes and Nsingi, two tough strikers who had to try to win the game, after which Maziz had to display his creativity. And it almost paid off. Nsingi pushed Vertonghen off the ball in his own box. Schmeichel stood firm. On the other side, Anderlecht thought they were entitled to a penalty again when Augustinsson was pulled down by Misao. Verboomen and his team, however, judged differently.

Brussels control resulted in a new goal in minute 42. Once again Dreyer, who, just like in Sclessin, played a great first half, was the celebrated man. A cross that was not touched by anyone turned in at the far post. Hazard, who deliberately let the ball run, also deserves praise. Sad for Leuven, because they had been playing with one man less. Maziz remained in the center circle after a duel with Hazard. Both Verboomen and the VAR ruled no error. But that does not mean that the people of Leuven did not think that they should have played the ball over the sideline at Anderlecht. A small uproar after the goal was the result.

Dolberg puts the match in a decisive fold

And Anderlecht also took off like a comet in the second half. Hazard’s free kick was extended by Augustinsson, after which Dolberg pushed the ball in – again like a real goal stealer. His fifth goal in as many games. A big setback for Leuven, which nevertheless wanted to demonstrate during half-time that it was completely ready for the second half. They were already ready to kick off a few minutes before Anderlecht.

Now the momentum seemed to be completely in a swinging Anderlecht. A clever combination via Augustinsson, Dreyer and Leoni ended up with Stroeykens. The youngster cleverly blasted the ball into the far post at an acute angle. 4-1 after 52 minutes, Anderlecht had their sheep on dry land. OH Leuven had to be careful not to get caught out. Chances for Dolberg (side net), Maertens (on Schmeichel’s fists) and Dreyer, who first saw the post standing in the way of his hat trick, were actually only for the stage.

Dreyer puts the icing on the cake

Anderlecht liked it that way. Riemer illustrated this with his substitutions. With Arnstad and Diawara, two previously defensive forces came on the field instead of Stroeykens and Leoni. Vazquez also came on for Hazard, an exercise in a two-striker system when falling behind? We don’t see another reason for keeping Amuzu on the bench.

Until Dreyer put the icing on his match five minutes before the end. A nice curl ended up neatly in the square. A hat trick from outside the box. Moreover, numbers one and three were certainly of enviable beauty. This is how Oud-Heverlee Leuven still received a pandering.

This way, the Purple & White won a new victory without much effort. Anderlecht has 16 out of 18 at home this season, so it seems to be building a solid home reputation again. Moreover, the people of Brussels are one point ahead of their neighbors from Sint-Gillis, although they still have a match in hand. OH Leuven is again concerned about relegation.
